Transform Abroad is a selective program that
provides the funds for American high school students to volunteer
and travel abroad for a summer in a developing country. The program
offers a unique summer abroad experience to accomplished, dynamic
students who would otherwise be unable to afford such an
opportunity. Transform Abroad works in conjunction with
Global
Routes, which operates over 20 volunteer programs in 15 countries
throughout the world. Founded by Brown University student Patrick
Cook-Deegan after his own transformative experience traveling in the
developing world, Transform Abroad gives students a cross-cultural
experience that will open their eyes to new worlds. We hope this
lasting experience encourages students to stay engaged in
global issues as they mature into future leaders.
